Birth Photography
Birth photography is an emotional experience for everyone – and my job is to be a fly on the wall. The chemicals released in the brain during childbirth actually keep many birth parents from remembering the experience clearly. Biology is funny that way.
But that’s also why you have me! You’ll be able to look back on those moments – your baby’s absolute first moments – forever. To remember them clearly, and eventually share your little one’s first moments with them, too.
MY PROCESS
Birth photography is a unique genre, in that my role is to be present, and to document, but not to direct.
I make a point to not get in the way of your birthing team, and to let you go through your birthing plan together, while I document. I essentially serve as an artistic photojournalist, using the light in the room, capturing your raw power.
For your session, I block off time in my calendar to make sure I can be there as soon as I’m told you’re going into labor.
